In it, MANE, Tora, and Luna — all Norwegian Elkhounds from Takoda, all carrying the ancient Norrland bloodline — are mentoring six six‑week‑old Jamthund pups from Aina and Rico, the Finnish imports of the highest calibre. This is the Norwegian mentor architecture guiding the Finnish Jamthund bear-working genetics, exactly as these lines were designed to operate together.

What makes this video so significant to me is the extended mentoring structure. Tora, now retired from whelping, is still performing mentor work on the edge of the group. She provides stability, presence, and terrain awareness, while leaving the bulk of the hands-on mentoring to her younger siblings, MANE and Luna. This is the natural mentor hierarchy of the Norwegian Elkhound: the mature female stabilizes the perimeter, the younger mentors guide the pups, and the pups learn through instinctive pattern transfer.

This clip is deeply connected to the litters I have arriving soon. Luna, MANE, and Tora are all directly tied to the upcoming pups — genetically, behaviorally, and architecturally. What’s fascinating is how this clip reverses the dynamic from the previous video: earlier, Aila mentored Norwegian Elkhound pups from Luna; now Luna, MANE, and Tora are mentoring full siblings to Aila. The Norwegian mentors are shaping the Jamthund pups, and earlier the Jamthund mentor shaped the Norwegian Elkhound pups — the reverse architecture, showing how both lines reinforce each other.

One of the upcoming 2026 Norwegian Elkhound litters is Moki and Riatta, and is connected in many ways to this short clip from history. Riatta is a daughter of Luna.

Riatta and Moki having a nice hike around the coast in Texas.

These pups are extremely young — only six weeks — and they are still developing coordination, range control, and pack alignment. They’re a bit scattered, as they should be at this age, but the brilliance of the clip is how I let them problem solve. I don’t interfere. I don’t use gear. I rely entirely on instinctive skills and the big dog mentors. One pup gets stuck behind a log and spends nearly the entire five minutes navigating his way around it. He tries angles, backs up, repositions, and eventually succeeds — and when he finally reaches me, it’s a celebration of instinct, perseverance, and natural development.

Throughout the clip, I repeat the foundational command: “By me… by me… come by me…” This repetition builds the early handler-focus architecture that becomes the hallmark of Kamia dogs. The pups hear it, absorb it, and begin to associate my voice with direction, safety, and pack alignment. Combined with the presence of three elite mentors, this creates the perfect environment for instinctive learning.

What’s truly remarkable is that today we see the exact “Lineage Déjà Vu” in Murdock — a young male who descends straight from the Norwegian mentors and Jamthund genetics shown in this years‑old clip.

This short clip of a much longer video is a pure demonstration of my no‑gear program — relying entirely on:

instinctive skills

terrain intelligence

mentor guidance

natural pack movement

inherited behavioral architecture

No leashes, no containment, no artificial training. Just the ancient Norwegian Norrland mentor genetics guiding the Finnish Jamthund bear-working pups in real terrain.

This clip is not just a fun moment. It is a blueprint of the behavioral patterns that will appear in the upcoming litters. The pups arriving soon carry this exact architecture — the Aina × Rico intelligence, the MANE × Luna mentoring lineage, the Tora stability, and the same instinctive problem-solving ability shown here.

This is the Kamia system at its finest: instinctive, intelligent, terrain-aware, and genetically predisposed to succeed.

You can watch the reverse side of this genetic mentoring and behavioral imprinting of Norwegian Elkhound pups by Jamthund mentor Aila and Norwegian Elkhound mentor Vana.

For families following the lineage, the natural next step is the Riatta litter — she is a daughter of Luna, the very Norwegian mentor featured in this historic footage.

Also be sure to stop by our Norwegian Elkhound Puppies main location for all our litter updates on both Norwegian Elkhounds and Jamthund litters, as well be sure to visit our Full Blood Elkhound site..

This short historic clip captures one of the most important demonstrations of mentor work I’ve ever filmed.
