The stunning old world bloodline foundation female Vaeda has her new litter on the ground now. These are going to be incredible hiking companions and working Elkhounds.
They are old lines and have instincts intact and centuries of history. This is one of the oldest known bloodlines and have ties to the foundational beginning of the Elkhounds.
Pretty Boy Leif and Vida are the parents of Vaeda and two better Elkhounds would be hard to find in the world today, the pups from Vaeda are going to be very special.
We will keep you posted on developments and I'll be posting here, as well Michael and Sarah are putting lots of details on the Instagram Channel they have.

Vida - Mother to Vaeda

When searching for an Elkhound for a companion in life for all situations there are no better lineages than the Kamia lines, but Vida is at the top of that lineage. Her and Leif are both incredibly gifted off leash dogs and Vida was one of the very best.
Considering the quality of the Kamia Elkhounds to have Vida ranking at the top is a phenomenal feat but she is old world and incredible.
GAEDA

Females like GAEDA come along very rarely and she is the mother of Vida, Grandmother to Vaeda. This was an extremely good working Elkhound.
I have hiked miles and miles of rugged terrain with GAEDA and of course with her daughter Vida, as well as established young Vaeda in offleash.
Gaeda was a big female, stout and powerful, I have nothing but great memories of the famous foundation female.
Vaeda will have pups that excel in handler focus and ability, full instincts intact.

Pretty Boy Leif, one of the most famous North American Norwegian Elkhound stud dogs. He was brought in to Kamia Kennels as an outcross bloodline male stud. Preserving the Norrland Bloodline
There are great sires and great dogs, then there are Elite Elkhounds.
The Elite dogs like Takoda are extremely rare and normally only come along once in a Breeders career. I have been fortunate to have such a companion.
For centuries the Norrland dogs were revered for their instinctive skill, the ability to bond and the unique trait of handing down instinctive skill in offspring.
In all breeding operations instinctive traits are some of the hardest traits to pass down, the Takoda lineage is one of the very few that pass them down, generation after generation.
